Cities Aviv has been an interesting, hard-to-pin-down presence in indie hip-hop for a few years now, pairing his shout-rap flow with highly textured electronic production that alternates between warm psychedelia and harsh distortion. Since the release of last year’sCome To Life, he’s been keeping himself busy lending his production talents and someguest verses to other worthy friends, but today he’s shared a new pair of his own tracks. “Neutralizer” and “Graced And Blessed” show off both poles of the Cities Aviv aesthetic, the former featuring an aggressively stuttering malfunctioning-robot beat and the latter a blissed-out ocean of arpeggiated video game synth. Hear both songs below (the second automatically starts playing when the first finishes).
